Applying Knowledge and Experience Produces Results

Yard Waste Recycling: Kramer Tree Specialists offers off site grinding of your yard waste with our Industrial Grinder/Recycler. This grinder produces a desirable mulch product, depending on the quality of material being used.

Yard Waste Removal: KTS will construct a bin on your site and remove/dispose of your yard waste material, on an “as needed” basis. Compare our cost per yard to the cost of a dumpster.

Yard Waste Drop Off: For your convenience, we accept yard waste debris at our site in West Chicago. We cannot recycle dirt or sod, and the loads need to be CLEAN – no metal, trash, rocks, etc. Please call or e-mail our office for costs.

Root Pruning: Our root pruning machine cleanly severs the root systems of trees to protect them from potential damage (ripping and tearing) during the construction process. Root pruning is also a useful tool for disease prevention, as it isolates diseased root systems and minimizes the risk of pathogens spreading via root grafting.

Training Seminars: Performing within such a dynamic industry, Kramer Tree Specialists remains on the forefront of implementing the most current arboriculture methods/techniques and offers educational and safety-training seminars for landscape contractors, tree care companies, municipalities and park districts.

Commercial GPS: Kramer Tree Specialists now offers Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to locate plants accurately on a property. This service creates an aerial view site map with specific locations of all trees and buildings, and can include sidewalks, driveways, fences, or any other structures on the site. Documentation of the history of the trees (treatments implemented, pruning completed, overall health status) can be tracked with bar-coded tree tags. This is a new service, which, in the coming years will become a more standard procedure.

Tree Surveys: Kramer Tree Specialists offers a tree surveying service, labeling trees 6” in trunk diameter and greater on a specific property. Each tree receives a numbered or bar-coded tag, which documents the plants’ genus, species, common name, trunk diameter, and health status. Tree surveys are used in tree preservation plans, construction site evaluations, tree appraisals, and site inventories. The tree survey produces a list that can be sorted by number, trunk diameter, condition, location, and/or name. To accurately replace or receive compensation for tree damage or loss, it is necessary to have an accurate tree survey completed by a Certified Arborist.

Mulch Products: KTS produces mulch products year-round for our client's needs.

In order for mulch to be beneficial to your trees and plants, mulch needs to be applied in the following manner:

No more than 3” in depth within the entire area- ideally out to the drip line of the tree. For aesthetic value and the health of the trees, incorporate several trees into one large mulch bed when feasible.

Mulch must be kept away from the trunk or plant stems a minimal of 6”. (This requires maintenance, and must be checked periodically due to rains and year to year “top dressing.”)

KTS can deliver up to 40 yards of mulch to your yard or job site. For further savings we can load your truck at our site.

Land Clearing Equipment:

Brontosaurus Grinder: This machine grinds trees from the top down – up to 10” diameter. Benefits include safety, cost effectiveness, and its performance is unaffected by ground conditions or terrain.
